This cafe should be my outing with Juwind in January or even longer but somehow I can't seem to remember the month. Penny University taking its name from 18th century coffeehouses in London is the little charming rustic cafe we plan to visit before we wandered around in the east area.

I loved how they support and source coffee bean from local roasters and collaborate with local bakers such as Windowsill Pies that have just recently set up their permanent place. In store, we tested all the biscuits from the pop-up by My Lovebites and still can't decide what to get since they are all so yummy. I heard that recently the pop-up have changed to Ice Cream and Cookie Co that serve gourmet ice cream cookie sandwiches and this is a "must try" since they only sell online and do not have a permanent store.

I guess you have heard many good rave about this artisanal cafe and the convenience of the pick-me-up counter no wonder this place is already full house when we arrived in the early morning. Be sure to step in early if you do not miss the recommended cupcakes.

"For the price of a penny, one had access to coffee, the company of people from all levels of society, discussions, bulletins, newspapers and the latest gossip."
